Power Failure
After just having some landscaping work completed at their home, our client in Edinburgh called us to investigate when their electric gates failed to work.
Within minutes of being on-site our engineer was able to see the issue, damage to the Steel Wire Armour (SWA) power supply cable. The cable had been installed at approximately 45cm above ground level and at some stage had been damaged by workers which severed the steel wire armouring and some of the conductors inside.
Our engineer was able to pick up an adaptable box and SW20 cable glands and reconnect the cable immediately.
Upon completion our engineer performed an RCD Trip Time test, Insulation Resistance test and Maximum Earth Fault Loop Impedance test to ensure that the circuit was safe.
