Muirfield Golf Club

A set of replacement FAAC S800 hydraulic operators were required at the World’s first ever golf club, Muirfield in Gullane, East Lothian just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The electric gates on this site have to deal with extreme forces presented by strong coastal winds as well as being intensively used, up to two hundred times per day.

We upgraded the existing 24v system to a 230V variant which we have determined to be more robust in high-demand sites.

The change over was simple as the existing underground enclosures and cable could be used, and a new control board was installed in the Rittal Cabinet.

The existing access control system was re-integrated into the new control board and the system thoroughly checked for safe operation before being returned to service.
